Infoporn (animated)!
Posted on March 24th, 2009 1 commentWired Magazine, lovers of designer paper and metallic/fluorescent inks, coined the term “infoporn” to describe a philosophy of representing data or ideas with so much gloss and eye candy that they became almost overwhelming. Their goal is to titillate and entertain as much as to educate; an “infoporn” graphic is as informative to its subject as the red light district in Amsterdam is informative to femininity.
The animated infographic video is becoming its own genre of infoporn – cheeky, fast-moving, stunning to look at, and watchable many times over. The newest entry in this field is this:
