Concepts: picking up girls with your iPhone

Our first assignment for Manolith is pretty ripe – the perfect storm of technophilia and brazen public behavior. “Using your iPhone to pick up girls.” Here are our first two concept sketches:

Not having been single for close to ten years, I had to assemble a roundtable of experts at my monday night bowling league before we could flesh these out. Which in itself was pretty funny, as we had an iPhone at our disposal and a number of the fairer sex to try out various techniques.

Personally, I always wanted to try the “Lloyd Dobler” method: stand outside the girl’s bedroom window, holding a boom box, playing Peter Gabriel til she comes outside and takes me in. Don’t know if there’s an iPhone app for that yet or not….
